MARTHA AND MARY
Do you ever feel like Martha?
Do you at times get distracted and it interferes between you and God? As women get easily distracted with kids, house chores, work etc. We should never get to the point where we stop praying and seeking Jesus! Prioritizing and commitment have helped me since Im a new mom, it's been a learning process for me. Whether it be early morning or late night I still make time for Jesus!
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” -Luke 10:38-42

THE DAY MY HEART WAS SET FREE!
It was Spring of 2009 when I gave myself to Jesus and accepted Him as my savior. I was broken...I had suffered a miscarriage and I was emotionally lost. I had a void in my heart that I could not fill. I experienced that through pain comes strength - Psalm 119:32. Jesus makes all things new! Through Jesus I have overcome and tasted the sweetest of love through Him!

LISA BEVERE
I highly recommend this book by Lisa Bevere. It is a great guide as to using our sword which is the word of God!
It is time we pray the Lord of the harvest opens our eyes and widens our gaze so that we, too, might see beyond the obvious and live out the actions of heaven's heroes. -Lisa Bevere

RECIPE
Perfect fall recipe for Cranberry Apple Pie!
What you'll need
- 1 refrigerated pie pastry
- 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
- 2 cups fresh cranberries (thawed if frozen)
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- CRUMB TOPPING
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons cold butter, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
- Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a 9-inch standard (not deep-dish) pie pan with the pastry, fluting the edge.
Thinly slice the apples crosswise and combine them in a large bowl with the cranberries. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and flour, mixing well. Transfer the filling to the pie shell, smoothing the top of the fruit. Bake for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and cinnamon for the topping. Add the butter, rubbing it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
After 30 minutes, remove the pie from the oven and reduce the temperature to 375 degrees. Spread the topping over the pie and bake it for another 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is golden and the fruit thickens and bubbles around the edges. Allow the pie to cool for 2 hours before serving. Serves 8.

WHEN GOD WAKES ME UP AT NIGHT...
Has God ever awakened you in the middle of the night? Do you wake up to someone on your mind? Do you feel the need to pray for them? This is exactly what happened to me in the middle of the night. I struggled to stay awake afterall who wants to be awake at 4:30 a.m. right? I came to my senses and reminded myself that I am chosen to do this what a privilege. God often calls his servents to pray at night. If your awakened and dont know who to pray for just ask "God who am I supposed to pray for tonight?" It might not only be a person to pray for but a situation that is about to arise.
Blessings,
Jessica
